Data analysis • Information Design • Dataviz
As someone adept at condensing complex chunks of information into easily digestible graphics, data visualization is a field I have started deepening my expertise. The following visualization is a representation of biodiversity conservation funds received by 20 developing countries in 2020, correlated with the share of terrestrial biodiversity sites protected per country, as well as the number of mammal species threatened with extinction per country.
Studying databases to select relevant datasets
Analysis + processing of data to match the selected parameters
Sketching a macrostructure for the visualization
Building a legend
Crafting a narrative and providing additional context
Tools
Databases derived from ourworldindata.org
Datasets collated using Google Sheets
Macrostructure created using RAWGraphs 2.0
Visualization designed using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
